The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) is the premier professional women’s basketball league in the United States. Founded in 1996, the league currently features 12 teams, each with a rich history and dedicated fanbase.

Eastern Conference

Atlanta Dream

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, the Dream joined the WNBA in 2008. They have reached the WNBA Finals three times but are still seeking their first championship. Known for their exciting play and strong community involvement.

Chicago Sky

The Chicago Sky, established in 2006, represent the Windy City. They captured their first WNBA championship in 2021, defeating the Phoenix Mercury in a thrilling series. Home games at Wintrust Arena.

Connecticut Sun

Based in Uncasville, Connecticut, the Sun have been a consistent contender in the Eastern Conference. Formerly the Orlando Miracle, the team relocated in 2003. They are still searching for their elusive first WNBA title.

Indiana Fever

The Indiana Fever, from Indianapolis, Indiana, won their sole WNBA championship in 2012, led by Tamika Catchings. Committed to youth basketball development in Indiana.

New York Liberty

One of the original eight WNBA teams, the New York Liberty play their home games in Brooklyn at Barclays Center. Despite a rich history, they have yet to secure a WNBA championship. They have a large and passionate following.

Washington Mystics

The Washington Mystics, representing Washington, D.C., achieved their first WNBA championship in 2019. They play at the Entertainment and Sports Arena and are known for their strong defense.

Western Conference

Dallas Wings

The Dallas Wings, based in Arlington, Texas, boast a young and talented roster. Formerly the Detroit Shock and Tulsa Shock, the team moved to Texas in 2016. They are working towards becoming a consistent playoff threat.

Las Vegas Aces

The Las Vegas Aces, previously the San Antonio Stars, relocated to Las Vegas in 2018. Backed by strong ownership and a dedicated fanbase, they won the WNBA championship in 2022 and 2023. They are a dominant force in the league.

Los Angeles Sparks

Another one of the original WNBA teams, the Los Angeles Sparks have won three WNBA championships. Based in Los Angeles, California, they boast a legendary history and a strong connection to the local community.

Minnesota Lynx

The Minnesota Lynx, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, experienced a dynasty run in the 2010s, winning four WNBA championships. They are a team steeped in tradition and known for their commitment to player development.

Phoenix Mercury

The Phoenix Mercury, representing Phoenix, Arizona, have won three WNBA championships. They are known for their high-scoring offense and their passionate fanbase. Played at the Footprint Center.

Seattle Storm

The Seattle Storm, based in Seattle, Washington, have secured four WNBA championships. Led by a tradition of star players, the Storm are a pillar of the Seattle sports community and play at the Climate Pledge Arena.
