När Börjar Eurovision 2025

The exact start date for Eurovision 2025 is yet to be officially announced by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). However, based on historical trends and patterns, we can make an educated guess as to when the spectacle will likely unfold.

Typically, Eurovision Song Contest events span a week in May. This week includes the dress rehearsals, the two semi-finals, and the grand final. Looking back at recent years, the grand final has usually taken place on the second or third Saturday of May. Therefore, we can reasonably expect the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 grand final to fall on either May 10th or May 17th, 2025.

Assuming the grand final is on May 10th, the two semi-finals would likely be held on Tuesday, May 6th and Thursday, May 8th. If the grand final is on May 17th, then the semi-finals would probably occur on Tuesday, May 13th and Thursday, May 15th.

Several factors influence the final decision on the dates. These factors include the availability of the chosen host venue, potential conflicts with other major events happening in the host city or country, and broadcasting schedules of the national broadcasters involved.

The host broadcaster, in this case, Switzerland’s SRG SSR, works closely with the EBU to determine the optimal dates that maximize viewership and logistical efficiency. They need to secure the venue for a sufficient amount of time to allow for construction, rehearsals, and the actual broadcast. The host broadcaster also needs to ensure that the local infrastructure can handle the influx of visitors and media representatives that Eurovision attracts.

While we await official confirmation, keeping an eye on the official Eurovision website (eurovision.tv) and social media channels is the best way to stay informed. Typically, the EBU releases the official dates sometime in the late summer or early autumn of the preceding year. So, expect an announcement regarding the Eurovision 2025 dates around August or September of 2024.

In the meantime, Eurovision fans can speculate and anticipate which countries will participate, which artists will be chosen, and what unique staging and performances will be showcased in Switzerland next year. The anticipation is half the fun! Once the dates are officially announced, fans can start planning their trips to the host city, booking accommodation, and securing tickets (if they’re lucky enough to get them!).
